My husband was walking down the street in downtown Portland when he looked up and about a block up the road could see a huge ball of fire with large amounts of smoke, his first thought "there is a building on fire" then he noticed the ball of fire moving back and forth across the street. He then started running a little faster up the street when he could then hear screaming "help, help me"
A man set himself on fire in front of the fur store aparently he was protesting the store, Brian said he had tried to run inside of the store not realizing that it was not even open....
There were people standing all around just watching this man running around completely on fire, all of his clothes had burned off of him by the time my husband had reached him. A police officer was standing near by screaming for help and yelling at the man to get on the ground, nobody wanted to touch him.
Brian pulled his own coat off and began putting the man out himself, he completely melted his coat and said it was one of the most horrible things he had ever seen.
In my eyes my husband is a hero this isnt the first time he has ran to help a complete stranger, I'm so proud:)
